Renishaw Expands Global Footprint with New Technology Centres in India and Japan

Global engineering technology firm Renishaw has recently inaugurated two cutting-edge technology centres in Chennai, India, and Nagoya, Japan, to better serve its expanding customer base in these key markets.

The new facility in Chennai, officially opened by Paul Weaver, Director of Sales and Marketing at Renishaw India, and Sanjay Sangam, marks a significant milestone for Renishaw in India. This advanced centre aims to enhance customer access to the company’s innovative technologies and engineering expertise. It will also act as a training hub for students, machine builders, end-users, channel partners, and Renishaw employees, showcasing the latest advancements including the NC4+ Blue non-contact laser tool setter, the REVO 5-axis multi-sensor measurement system, and EquatorTM shop-floor gauging systems.

Renishaw’s upgraded Nagoya centre was unveiled at a two-day event attended by over a hundred guests, including major distributors, machine builders, Japanese metrology academics, British Embassy representatives, and Tokyo office employees. The centre features a demonstration area, seminar room, and applications development spaces. It includes facilities for calibration, warehousing, and dispatch. Visitors explored Renishaw’s full range of metrology and spectroscopy products, including the new Renishaw Central smart manufacturing software suite, which enhances production through accurate process data.

Jason Taylor, Managing Director of Renishaw Japan, highlighted the significance of the event, reflecting on the company’s growth since opening its first Nagoya office in 1986. The new Nagoya centre represents a major upgrade, converting the first floor into a state-of-the-art technology hub designed to foster customer collaboration and innovation.

Renishaw’s expansion extends beyond these new centres. In the past year, the company has also launched new offices in Brazil and established its first subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates, aimed at supporting the burgeoning manufacturing and advanced engineering sectors in the Gulf Cooperation Council region and Egypt.
