DMG Mori to Unveil New Technologies at AMB 2024 Exhibition

by Anna

At the AMB 2024 exhibition in Stuttgart, scheduled from September 10-14, machine tool manufacturer DMG Mori will introduce several cutting-edge products aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities.

One of the highlights will be the NLX 2500-700 2nd Generation, a sophisticated twin-spindle, Y-axis turning center. This updated model features DMG Mori’s proprietary CELOS X app-based user interface integrated with Siemens Sinumerik ONE control. Enhancements include improved stability and precision, facilitated by opposed high-torque turnMASTER spindles. The machine boasts a maximum turning diameter of 366mm and a turning length of up to 705mm, accommodating a diverse range of complex workpieces. Additionally, bar capacity has increased to 105mm in diameter for both spindles, compared to the previous 80mm, and a ±60 mm Y-axis supports off-centre milling and drilling.

In the realm of prismatic machining, DMG Mori will present the DMU 85 monoBLOCK 2nd Generation. This advanced 5-axis machining center builds upon its predecessor’s successful design while incorporating customer feedback. It features enhanced machining accuracy through improved cooling and direct-drive ballscrews, achieving positioning precision within five microns. The machine can handle workpieces up to 1,040mm in diameter, 590mm tall, and weighing up to 1.5 tonnes. Versatility is further enhanced with options for additional machining processes, including turning and grinding, and CELOS X technology for streamlined digital production. A variety of spindle options, such as speedMASTER spindles with speeds up to 30,000 rpm and powerMASTER spindles with up to 430 Nm of torque, cater to different machining needs.

Additionally, DMG Mori will introduce the PH-AMR 750, a new model in its range of autonomous transport systems. Following the success of the PH-AMR series, this smallest model utilizes laser scanning technology for safe navigation in factory environments. It integrates with the manufacturer’s Cell Controller LPS 4 for efficient production planning and control. The PH-AMR 750 can transport conventional machine pallets up to 630 x 630mm or zero-point workholding systems, with a total load capacity of 750 kg and component size up to 800 x 800 mm. Its dual-level design allows it to transport both machined workpieces and fresh raw material pallets in a single trip.
