Green Point Launches Specialized Support for Screw Compressor Maintenance

by Anna

Bitzer UK’s Green Point division has unveiled a new service aimed at supporting contractors tasked with maintaining screw compressor cooling systems, addressing the complexities of these advanced units.

Screw compressors, known for their intricate design and mechanical sophistication, can present challenges for engineers in the field. Green Point’s new initiative seeks to empower service technicians by offering expert guidance and boosting confidence in handling these systems effectively.

“Reciprocating compressors are often more familiar to technicians, as their principles align with piston-based engines,” said Will Pribyl, general manager of Green Point UK. “However, screw compressors operate on distinct compression mechanisms and are constructed using precise manufacturing techniques that demand a high degree of tolerance.”

Pribyl acknowledged that servicing these machines can be daunting for engineers, particularly given the risks of prolonged downtime or irreversible damage if mishandled.

The new service provides remote technical support, on-site assistance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic help. Additionally, in collaboration with Bitzer UK, Green Point is developing an in-person training program on screw compressor technology, which is slated to launch at their Milton Keynes headquarters next year.
