The UK Metals Expo 2024 concluded with remarkable success, surpassing all expectations, according to event organisers. With overwhelmingly positive feedback, the Expo is now positioned for an even larger and more impressive event next year.
In just three years, the UK Metals Expo has cemented itself as a key fixture on the industry calendar, attracting 300 exhibitors and over 7,000 professionals from 51 countries. This year’s event saw a notable 51% increase in attendance, and post-show surveys reported a satisfaction rating of 8.3/10.
The Expo played a crucial role in fostering connections across the entire metals supply chain, uniting companies, buyers, and partners from various sectors. Industries represented ranged from aerospace and automotive to construction and renewable energy, highlighting the event’s importance in facilitating innovation and collaboration. Exhibitors showcased a range of advanced solutions tailored to these sectors, further establishing the Expo as a critical hub for the industry.
Beyond exhibitions, the event was a prime environment for networking and deal-making. Many attendees reported securing new business partnerships and contracts, underscoring the Expo’s role in driving growth and collaboration within the metals sector.
With participants from 51 countries, the UK Metals Expo continued to expand its international reach, becoming a significant global platform. The event saw a rise in cross-border collaborations as companies explored new markets and formed partnerships worldwide.
A key highlight of the Expo was its free seminar programme, which featured 30 hours of content across four theatres. Chris McDonald MP delivered the opening keynote, affirming the UK Government’s commitment to a robust Manufacturing Strategy. McDonald emphasized that an Industrial Strategy offers “a great opportunity for those working in industry, attracting the investment needed to grow the economy, generate wealth, and address public service needs, poverty, and inequality.”
Looking ahead, the UK Metals Expo will return to the NEC in Birmingham on 10 and 11 September 2025, with expectations of an even larger event.
