Indian motorcycle brand TVS is expanding its offerings in the Indonesian market with the introduction of the new iQube electric motorcycle at the 2024 IMOS event.
The iQube is positioned as an entry-level model, priced lower than the iQube S. Rizal Tandju, Deputy General Manager of PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia, stated, “After the S variant, we launched the standard iQube at a more affordable price, providing Indonesian consumers with more options.”
While the iQube shares a similar appearance with the iQube S, there are notable differences in their technical specifications. The standard iQube is equipped with a smaller 2.2 kWh battery, allowing for a range of up to 75 kilometers on a full charge. In comparison, the iQube S features a 3.4 kWh battery with a range of 100 kilometers.
Both models are powered by a 4.6 kW electric drive, enabling acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. However, their top speeds differ, with the iQube reaching 75 km/h and the iQube S achieving 78 km/h.
The entry-level iQube maintains similar tire specifications to the iQube S, featuring 90/90 tires mounted on 12-inch rims both front and rear. It also includes disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. A regenerative braking system helps convert braking heat into energy for the battery. While the iQube S has an adjustable hydraulic rear suspension, the standard iQube comes with fixed hydraulic settings.
In terms of storage, the standard iQube offers 30 liters of space, sufficient for one helmet, whereas the iQube S has a larger 32-liter capacity that can accommodate two helmets.
The TVS iQube is set to launch in the Indonesian market next year, with a price expected to be below IDR 50 million. For reference, the iQube S is currently priced at IDR 52.9 million.
