Kia, in collaboration with its official distributor ACMobility, has launched the highly anticipated Kia EV9 all-electric SUV at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show. This new model follows the successful launch of the Kia EV6 and highlights Kia’s commitment to electric vehicles. The Kia EV9 GT-Line sets a new standard for luxury in the electric vehicle market, combining advanced technology with premium features.
The Kia EV9 is designed to integrate smoothly into the daily lives of busy professionals and families. It promises luxury, performance, and practicality, addressing the growing demand for sophisticated and eco-friendly vehicles.
Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “Kia Philippines, alongside ACMobility, is proud to introduce the Kia EV9. As Kia’s flagship electric model, the EV9 features a striking, futuristic design. It measures 5,015 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height. Its modern aesthetics and award-winning performance have earned it several prestigious awards, including the 2024 Red Dot Best of the Best Award and the titles of 2024 Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car of the Year.
The EV9 showcases a distinctive “digital tiger face,” sleek LED headlights, auto-flush door handles, and digital side mirrors. It stands confidently on 21-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its bold presence.
Brian Buendia, COO of Kia Philippines, emphasized the importance of the EV9’s launch, saying, “The EV9 reflects our commitment to electrified innovation. From the EV6 to the EV9, Kia is leading the shift toward sustainable mobility.”
Inside, the Kia EV9 is equipped with two 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. It also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a premium 14-speaker Meridian Surround Sound system. Additional features include a digital center mirror, dual sunroof, and hidden haptic buttons.
The EV9 provides spacious seating arrangements with a 3,100 mm wheelbase and flexible 2+2+2 seating. Eco-friendly leather seats come with an 8-way power driver’s seat featuring lumbar support, cooling, and memory settings. The front passenger and second-row seats offer additional power adjustments and a massage feature, while the third-row seats have a One-Press Power Fold function. Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control ensures comfort for all passengers.
Connectivity is a priority, with multiple charging ports, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature that allows the EV9 to power devices both inside and outside the vehicle.
