Carrier Transicold has introduced the Supra S10MT, a diesel-powered refrigeration unit designed for multi-temperature straight trucks. The new unit, aimed at improving overall fleet efficiency, offers enhanced cooling capacity, performance, and serviceability over its predecessor.
The Supra S10MT delivers 33,000 BTU at 35°F, incorporating separate SlimLine evaporators for each of the two cooling zones within the truck’s cargo space. This dual-discharge evaporator design is engineered to optimize airflow, temperature control, and utilization within the distinct areas, making it ideal for multi-temperature transportation needs.
Scott Parker, Product Manager for Truck Products at Carrier Transicold, emphasized the unit’s reliability in managing varied product temperatures in multi-stop applications, stating, “Managing multiple product temperatures in multi-stop truck applications demands precise temperature management and fast recovery after deliveries. The Supra S10MT has the power and versatility that truck fleets need, plus the durability and reliability they’ve come to expect from our Supra platform.”
Key Features of the Supra S10MT
Quieter Operation: The Supra S10MT’s engine operates at reduced speeds and incorporates various noise-reducing improvements, lowering noise by up to 3 decibels. This makes the unit particularly suited for nighttime and urban deliveries, where quiet operation is often required.
Weight-Saving Design: By using fewer unique components, the Supra S10MT reduces weight by 18% compared to earlier models, offering an efficient solution for fleets looking to optimize payloads.
Intelligent APX Controls: The unit comes with advanced APX control technology, which includes automated trip-data recording, pre-trip automation with component-level fault protection, and enhanced onboard diagnostics. This system also features FreshProtect, a perishable protection feature, ensuring goods are transported in optimal conditions.
Improved Serviceability: The Supra S10MT is designed with maintenance-free components, including electric condenser fans and evaporator fan motors, making routine upkeep easier. The unit boasts a 2,000-hour oil service interval, and the use of corrosion-resistant composite materials for the evaporator skins extends the lifespan of the unit. The revamped fan design also eliminates the need for capacitors.
Lynx Fleet Telematics: Carrier Transicold’s Lynx Fleet telematics solution allows fleet operators to remotely monitor the refrigeration unit’s temperature, location, system performance, and more, enhancing fleet management and operational efficiency.
The Supra S10MT marks a significant upgrade for multi-temperature refrigeration in the transport sector, offering fleets a combination of power, efficiency, and ease of service, tailored to the demands of modern logistics.
