Air and Gas Industries, a Brisbane-based manufacturer specializing in the production of trailers for Dangerous Goods (DG), has introduced its AIRVAXX range of vacuum tanker trailers. These versatile trailers are designed for efficient and reliable bulk transport, building on the company’s reputation for creating highly customizable solutions tailored to customer needs.
Founded in 1974 in Wacol, Brisbane, Air and Gas Industries initially focused on trailers for the transportation of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and other chemicals, catering to the demanding standards of the Dangerous Goods sector. Over the past 30 years, the company has expanded its scope, diversifying into various applications while maintaining a strong presence in the market.
According to Michael Fowler, Manufacturing Group Manager at Air and Gas Industries, the company has consistently grown within its niche of producing equipment for Dangerous Goods transport. “In the past few decades, the company has expanded on its niche, which has always been equipment related to Dangerous Goods,” he said.
The new AIRVAXX vacuum tanker trailers come in a variety of configurations, including semi-trailers, A trailers, B-doubles, dog trailers, pig trailers, and road trains. With a capacity of up to 26,000 liters, these trailers are equipped with a range of standard features, such as alloy wheels, hose storage trays, advanced braking systems, and multi-voltage LED lighting. Their full customizability ensures that each unit can be adapted to meet the specific needs of a variety of industries.
One notable model in the AIRVAXX range is the ST23 Hydro-Excavation tri-axle semi-trailer. Designed with a 23,000-liter waste compartment, this unit strikes a balance between performance and load capacity. It features a tipping system and a full-opening rear door for easy product discharge. Optional upgrades include a high-flow vacuum blower or high-pressure water system, making it suitable for non-destructive digging and general washdowns.
Another key model is the AIRVAXX S25-DGR DG tri-axle semi-trailer, which incorporates Air and Gas Industries’ lightweight frame-free design. This innovation reduces tare weight and maximizes payload. Like the ST23, the S25-DGR includes a hydraulically operated full-opening rear door, enabling easy washdowns between uses.
Fowler emphasizes that Air and Gas Industries’ ability to deliver customized solutions while keeping things simple for customers has been a key factor in the company’s success. “One of our main focuses is to make sure the trailers are easy to use,” he said. “We’ve always tried to not overcomplicate things. Our units are custom-built, but customers can know how to work all of them because they are designed that way.”
The company’s dedication to flexibility is matched by its commitment to local production. Air and Gas Industries retains full control over the design and manufacturing process, which takes place entirely in Queensland. This approach allows the company to ensure high-quality production standards and strong after-sale support. “We don’t import any of our manufacturing. We keep it here in Queensland and retain design control as a result,” Fowler explained. “We oversee it all, up until equipment is handed over to the customer. As a result, we have a strong level of knowledge for our equipment and offer strong after-sale support.”
The AIRVAXX vacuum tanker trailers reflect Air and Gas Industries’ dedication to providing efficient, customizable, and easy-to-use transport solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to local production and customer satisfaction.
