Hitachi Global Air Power has announced the appointment of Andy Fayyad as Vice President of Operations, effective November 11. Fayyad, who brings over three decades of experience in industrial manufacturing, will play a key role in advancing the company’s operational transformation at its Sullair air compressor manufacturing facility in Michigan City.
In a statement, John Randall, President and CEO of Hitachi Global Air Power, expressed confidence in Fayyad’s ability to drive the company’s strategic growth. “Andy’s extensive background in quality assurance and strategic planning makes him an ideal addition to our leadership team. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission to deliver world-class quality and manufacturing excellence,” Randall said.
Fayyad’s career spans more than 34 years, with leadership roles in various high-profile companies. Prior to joining Hitachi, Fayyad worked at General Motors Powertrain Group, where he managed production facilities in both Asia and the U.S. He also led engineering, program management, and sourcing initiatives at GM.
Fayyad has held key positions at Xylem Corporation in Singapore, where he focused on emerging markets. His international experience includes overseeing operations and leading teams across multiple regions, including China, South Korea, Germany, France, India, and the U.S.

Fayyad holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in control systems engineering from Oakland University.
