Kobelco Compressors America (KCA) has officially begun the expansion of its Houston Service Shop (HSS), marking a significant investment aimed at boosting the company’s service offerings.
The new addition, spanning 33,000 square feet, is designed to enhance KCA’s ability to serve its customers with more comprehensive solutions.
“This expansion, coming after eight years of successful operations, reflects the dedication and hard work of our team,” said Peter Venizelos, Head of KCA AMSE. “The new facility will not only strengthen our service capabilities in Texas but also support the global growth of our repair business.”
The expanded Houston Service Shop will feature upgraded infrastructure, including six compressor overhaul stations, two drive-through loading bays, an extruder overhaul station, and specialized areas for hydro blasting, non-destructive testing (NDT), and painting. Other key upgrades include climate-controlled storage, expanded parts inventory services, designated customer workspaces, and additional conference areas for training. The facility will also house new 30-ton and 50-ton cranes to accommodate increased operational demands.
This expansion underscores KCA’s continued commitment to providing high-quality aftermarket services. The revamped facility will offer a wide range of technical support, spare parts, field services, engineering solutions, and repair services for both Kobelco and non-Kobelco screw compressors.
