A major steel producer recently partnered with Atlas Copco Rental after a critical failure of one of their two centrifugal compressors jeopardized the timeline of an ongoing project. With their operations at risk, the company required supplemental compressed air, prompting them to seek a more reliable service provider.
The steel producer, dissatisfied with the service they had previously received from a competitor, found an opportunity to establish a new business relationship with Atlas Copco Rental.
Despite the steel producer’s history of reluctance in switching suppliers, Atlas Copco Rental was able to step in, aided by the company’s service division and its sister company’s influence. In a crucial moment when the project was at risk of falling apart, the Atlas Copco team reached out to the customer. The Area Sales Manager introduced them to a comprehensive solution that included advanced monitoring systems and on-site technical support. This proactive approach, coupled with the reliability of Atlas Copco’s equipment, ultimately led the steel producer to choose the company as their official vendor.
To help the steel producer meet project demands, Atlas Copco Rental provided three PTS 1600 oil-free air compressors, two 1500 dryers, and a fuel tank. The ability to remotely monitor the equipment, along with the availability of expert technicians on standby, ensured smooth operations. Impressed by the service, the customer placed an additional order for three diesel solutions once their stationary compressor was decommissioned.
This collaboration highlights the value of Atlas Copco Rental’s flexible, customer-centric approach, securing both the project’s success and long-term business opportunities.
