Volta Energy, a Netherlands-based renewable energy company, has introduced a new 15 kVA hybrid solar generator designed to power construction sites and water pump installations. The latest addition to its expanding range of rental systems offers an eco-friendly alternative to conventional diesel generators.
The 15 kVA model is part of a wider lineup that spans from 6 kVA to 120 kVA, catering to various power needs across industries. The smallest units are ideal for powering construction site security cameras, while larger models can supply electricity to tools and water pumps. The largest systems are designed for high-demand uses, such as powering outdoor events, film production crews, and festivals, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel fuel sources.
With demand for portable, off-grid power solutions on the rise, Volta Energy is expanding its international presence. Roel Bleumer, CEO of Volta Energy, highlighted the growing interest in the market. “The market is looking up. We started with Great Britain and Germany this year, and that is going great,” Bleumer said in an interview with pv magazine.
The 15 kVA hybrid generator is particularly suited for construction and water pump operations. The system combines 3.14 kW of amorphous silicon solar panels, a 4 kW 3-phase inverter, a 31 kWh battery, and a biodiesel generator for backup power. The generator also features programmable automatic start/stop functionality and an “evening silence” mode to minimize noise disruption during non-operational hours.
In terms of size, the generator measures 5.65m x 2.2m x 2.7m when the photovoltaic panels are folded. When unfolded, the dimensions increase to 5.65m x 4.3m x 3m, with a total weight of 2,000 kg. The unit is mounted on a trailer for easy transport and can be towed by a standard van.
The system also includes remote monitoring and energy management capabilities through a dedicated app, allowing users to track performance and optimize energy usage. It is equipped with one 400V socket and one 230V socket for versatile connectivity.
Founded in 2017, Volta Energy specializes in off-grid solar mobile solutions, offering rental options for its growing portfolio of portable power systems.
