LG Electronics has launched its innovative Mosquito Away AC, a dual inverter air conditioner designed to offer efficient cooling while repelling mosquitoes. The new product, the first of its kind in Nigeria, uses ultrasonic technology to generate sound frequencies that are inaudible to humans but effective in repelling mosquitoes. Tests conducted by the Institute for Advanced Medical Research and Training (IAMRAT) at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, confirmed a 92% mosquito repulsion rate and an 88% knockdown rate indoors.
Mr. Olugbenga Ogunbayo, Master Trainer at LG Electronics, highlighted the significance of the launch, calling the Mosquito Away AC a game-changer in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases. In addition to its mosquito-repelling technology, the unit features LG’s energy-efficient Dual Inverter Compressor™, which uses 70% less energy than traditional models.
Other features include Volt Care, ensuring continuous operation despite power fluctuations, and Gen Mode, which adapts energy consumption to generator power. The ThinQ™ App allows users to monitor energy usage remotely.
The air conditioner, which is now available at LG and Fouani showrooms across Nigeria, comes with a 10-year compressor guarantee and strong after-sales support. According to Mr. Mohammed Fouani, Managing Director of Fouani Nig. Ltd, LG continues to innovate for Nigerian households, creating safer and more comfortable living spaces.
