Iran Develops Nanobubble Generator for Industrial Wastewater Treatment

by Anna

An Iranian knowledge-based company has unveiled a nanobubble generator designed to treat industrial wastewater using innovative nanobubble technology. The device works by generating nanobubbles, which explode to create mechanical waves that can effectively remove suspended particles from wastewater, according to Majid Boujaran, the company’s Board Chairman.

Seyed Amir Abbas Kashanchi, the technical director, explained that the system can remove organic matter, pigments, enzymes, and microorganisms from the water. Additionally, it is capable of desulfurizing oil and removing arsenic, making it highly versatile. The device also addresses the critical chemical oxygen demand (COD) factor, which is crucial in wastewater treatment. Kashanchi highlighted that the system could reduce wastewater from 20,000 COD to 8,000 COD.

In a related development, another Iranian company has applied nanobubble technology to the agricultural and aquatic industries. Aref Dadgostar, the managing director, explained that the system is used in greenhouse irrigation to increase oxygen levels in the water, which promotes stronger root growth and higher nutrient absorption. This leads to better plant growth both quantitatively and qualitatively.

In the aquatic sector, the technology injects oxygen into water, improving the living conditions of fish and increasing production by up to three times. This application offers a sustainable solution for industries dealing with gas-liquid mixing challenges, such as agriculture and aquaculture.
