Base Power, a leading electricity provider that includes backup batteries in its plans, has launched in the Houston metro area. This expansion follows the company’s success in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth, offering an affordable alternative to generators and solar-battery systems amid grid instability.
“We’re excited to introduce Base Power to Houston,” said Zach Dell, CEO and Co-Founder. “Houston’s weather-driven power outages make it a key market for reliable home backup solutions.”
For a $495 setup fee and $16/month, customers get a backup battery and affordable energy rates. To celebrate, the first 500 homeowners who submit a refundable deposit will have the setup fee waived.
Base Power also introduces a generator plug-in that converts portable generators into a whole-home backup solution at a fixed additional cost. It integrates with solar installations and offers one of the top solar buyback rates in Texas.
“We’re solving the power reliability issue many Texans face,” said Justin Lopas, COO and Co-Founder.
