Power Equipment Partners with Eniquest to Expand Diesel Generator Offerings

by Anna

Power Equipment, a leading distributor of power technology solutions for the industrial and marine sectors, has solidified its commitment to delivering cutting-edge power solutions through a strategic partnership with Eniquest, an Australian-made diesel generator manufacturer.

Established in 1990, Power Equipment has remained a family-owned business that supplies power solutions for diverse sectors, with a special focus on the industrial and marine markets.

A Legacy of Innovation and Strong Partnerships

The company’s foundation dates back more than three decades when founder and chairman Allan Foster began a pivotal relationship with Yanmar, a globally recognized engine manufacturer. This collaboration was essential to the early growth and establishment of Power Equipment. “Allan took on the distribution and steadily grew Power Equipment into the existing Yanmar portfolio,” Whitford explained.

Building on this partnership, Power Equipment expanded its reach into new markets, leveraging its position as one of Australia’s few independent engine distributors. “That flexibility to package and deliver exactly what the customer needs as a result of the access to various products has been a key to success,” Whitford added.

Today, Power Equipment has become one of the largest independent distributors of marine and industrial power solutions in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. The company’s success is attributed to its partnerships with renowned brands such as John Deere, Cox Marine, Smartgyro, Torqeedo, OXE Diesel, and others. This extensive network is supported by over 400 sales and service dealers across the region.

“Quality is what has built the company and made it dominant in its own market,” Whitford stated.

Power Equipment’s Partnership with Eniquest

The latest partnership with Eniquest further underscores Power Equipment’s dedication to delivering high-performance power solutions. Eniquest’s locally-designed diesel generators are now available to a broader commercial market through this exclusive distributor agreement. The partnership, which traces back several decades, reflects Power Equipment’s confidence in Eniquest’s high-quality products, which have been trusted across sectors such as marine, military, mining, and renewable energy.

Whitford explained, “We had the distribution, sales, and marketing to effectively help them sell more of the great product they’ve developed.” As a result, Eniquest has been able to expand its product range and reach new markets.

Eniquest’s diesel generators come in three distinct ranges to meet the varying needs of its customers. The Husky range is a compact yet reliable option ideal for applications like pumps and irrigators. The Ranger offers low-noise solutions for residential and mobile applications, while the Stockman, a mid-sized extension of the Ranger, serves a wide range of power requirements with both enclosed and semi-enclosed variants.

One key application of these generators is in powering site vans used by rental companies, which are equipped with essential appliances such as kitchens, microwaves, TVs, and air conditioners. These vans often operate in remote areas, where reliable power is crucial. “Our answer is we just supply something that doesn’t have a problem,” Whitford said.

Expanding Horizons with John Deere

Building on the success of the Eniquest partnership, Power Equipment is also expanding its range by incorporating John Deere engines into its offerings. Whitford noted, “Being able to introduce the John Deere product to Eniquest has expanded their horizons. They’re now building much larger units to accommodate those units.”

The first of these larger units, the Stockman 850, will feature a John Deere 4045 engine, further solidifying Power Equipment’s position as a key player in the global power solutions market.

Looking Ahead

Beyond its agreement with Eniquest, Power Equipment is actively seeking additional global partnerships to further enhance its reputation as a leading Australian distributor. “We will continue to follow a very clear direction to make sure that we’re getting the best of every product that we have, while also ensuring new products integrate seamlessly and complement our existing range,” Whitford concluded.

With a strategic vision focused on innovation and customer satisfaction, Power Equipment continues to solidify its position at the forefront of power technology distribution across multiple sectors.
