Enhanced Bead Roller and Articulating Arm for Precision
The R980DP’s right-side assist arm is equipped with a new bead roller that helps technicians press down stiff tire beads, making room for tire irons during demounting and ensuring smooth mounting by keeping the beads below the toolhead’s beak. This innovation makes the process faster and more precise.
On the left side, the articulating arm comes with a multi-function bird-shaped head that can serve as a traveling drop-center tool for various wheel profiles. It can also be used as a tire hook to maneuver stubborn or heavy tires. Additionally, the hold-down-head accessory allows for outside clamping of low-profile tire/wheel combinations and doubles as a safety restraint device during inflation.
Increased Efficiency with High-Torque Turntable
The R980DP’s high-torque, high-speed electric turntable is another key feature, powered by a 3-horsepower motor that increases turntable speed by 20 percent and torque by 43 percent compared to other models. This makes tire changes on passenger vehicle wheels faster, improving shop efficiency. For shops lacking 220-volt access, the R980DP-L model provides the same high-performance features with a standard turntable and a plug-and-play 110-volt design.
