Swiss agtech and artificial intelligence (AI) software company, Ecorobotix, has made a significant stride in the U.S. market with the introduction of its cutting-edge ARA system. ARA, which was launched in 2021 and has already gained traction in 13 European countries, Canada, and South America, offers a revolutionary approach to precision spot-spraying of weeds.
Leveraging Ecorobotix’s UHP-Spray-Technology and AI-driven Plant-by-Plant software, ARA stands as an innovation that swiftly scans the field and employs precision spot-spraying techniques. In a mere 250 milliseconds, the system captures real-time imagery of the field, identifies specific crops or weeds designated for treatment, and executes precise spray actions within a 2.4 by 2.4 inches radius, all the while minimizing drift.
While ARA’s primary focus lies in targeted herbicide treatments within vegetable fields, the system showcases its prowess in minimizing phytotoxicity and elevating overall crop yields. This translates into substantial profit increments for farmers, coupled with a remarkable reduction of herbicide volumes ranging from 70% to 95%. The system’s versatility extends beyond herbicides to liquid fertilizers, growth treatments, insecticides, and pesticides.
Ecorobotix’s foray into the U.S. market has been characterized by the establishment of its U.S. subsidiary, Ecorobotix Inc., as well as its membership in the esteemed Western Growers Association (WGA) in California. Making its debut appearance at the 2023 Farm Tech Days in Wisconsin alongside Edney Distributing, ARA garnered attention and is poised to grace the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois. Further solidifying its presence, Ecorobotix Inc. will participate in FIRA in Salinas, California this September, presenting field demonstrations of the groundbreaking ARA system.
Ecorobotix’s entry into the U.S. market signifies the convergence of innovative technology and sustainable agricultural practices, highlighting a commitment to efficiency, precision, and environmental stewardship.
