The CD Couplings utilize a clamp-style hub design, offering a secure and robust shaft connection with a full 360° clamping area around the shaft. This design surpasses the point contact provided by one or two set screws in conventional couplings, ensuring a stronger and more secure shaft connection capable of withstanding high acceleration, deceleration, and various operating conditions, including starting, stopping, indexing, and reversing.
The newly engineered Zero-Max Clamp Collars boast a larger and oversized construction to accommodate larger clamping screws. Furthermore, these collars employ higher-strength stainless steel screws, offering superior strength compared to standard stainless steel grades and eliminating the common issue of bolt stretch associated with stainless steel screws.
The larger high-strength stainless steel clamp screws allow for higher tightening torques, resulting in increased clamping forces, critical for achieving high transmittable torque, especially in keyless shaft applications. Additionally, the clamp collars are equipped with balancing holes to enhance static balance for vibration-sensitive or high-speed applications. For specific needs, dynamic balancing is also available.
Zero-Max offers these stainless steel CD Couplings in standard outside diameters of 3.00 inches (76.2 mm), 3.75 inches (95.3 mm), 4.50 inches (114 mm), and 5.25 inches (133 mm). The clamp-style hubs come in keyway or keyless bore options, and bore sizes are available in inch, millimeter, or combinations of both.
