NORDBORG, Denmark — Danfoss Drives and Honeywell have announced the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding aimed at exploring collaboration in innovating automation solutions with an integrated architecture. The partnership seeks to enhance efficiency, precision, safety, and quality across industries such as manufacturing, process industries, energy, utilities, automotive, and agriculture.
The traditional landscape of automation solutions often presents challenges where operators must choose between highly integrated, closed architectures lacking flexibility, or open architectures with limited data integration and interoperability. Through this collaboration, Danfoss Drives and Honeywell aim to address these limitations by offering an open and integrated solution for the industry.
Mika Kulju, president of Danfoss Drives, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to improve data integration and flexibility across automation platforms. “The most innovative solutions arise from collaboration with our customers and partners,” Kulju noted. “This partnership is poised to drive growth and deliver enhanced value to our customers.”
The joint effort intends to resolve data integration and interoperability issues, leading to benefits such as reduced time to operation, lower engineering costs, predictive maintenance capabilities, and improved information availability for operators. These advancements are expected to benefit sectors including battery manufacturing, specialty chemicals, mining, metals, and minerals.
Pramesh Maheshwari, president of Honeywell Process Solutions, highlighted the transformative impact of the partnership on industry automation. “Process operators will benefit from enhanced operational accuracy with access to the most precise data,” Maheshwari stated. “Honeywell and Danfoss are committed to driving efficiency and flexibility through advanced automation solutions.”
The collaboration between Danfoss Drives and Honeywell marks a significant step forward in advancing automation technologies, aiming to set new standards in integration and operational efficiency across diverse industrial sectors.
