Yamazaki Mazak and its Spanish partner Intermaher have hailed the recent BIEMH trade show in Bilbao as a resounding success, attributing it to strong levels of interest and a high visitor turnout.
At the exhibition, Mazak and Intermaher showcased a diverse lineup of machines, including the European-built CV5-500 5-axis machining center and the QTE-300 turning centre. These machines were presented alongside turnkey robot machine tending solutions, garnering significant attention from attendees.
A standout attraction at their stand was the INTEGREX i-450H, a prominent model from Mazak’s Multi-Tasking series, known for its capability to combine turning and B-axis milling in a single unit.
Also drawing considerable interest was the VARIAXIS i-800 NEO, designed to reduce carbon footprint by 22.7% over its operational lifespan, underscoring Mazak’s commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing practices.
Highlighting their technological prowess, Mazak featured the FSW-460V hybrid machine, integrating machining with friction stir welding technology within the same envelope. This innovation, which recently received the prestigious Grand Prix award at the Mach-Tech show in Hungary, caters particularly well to high-volume manufacturing sectors such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, and heat transfer.
The trade show attracted a total of 38,000 visitors over five days, with significant foot traffic observed at the Intermaher-Mazak booth, resulting in a substantial number of machine enquiries for Intermaher.
Alan Mucklow, managing director for UK, Eire, and National Distributors at Yamazaki Mazak, emphasized the importance of the Spanish market, noting its robust aerospace and automotive sectors. He praised Intermaher as an outstanding distributor capable of providing comprehensive support to customers.
Jose Ignacio Ortiz de Urbina, managing director at Intermaher, echoed the sentiment, describing BIEMH as a pivotal event that bolstered both Intermaher and Mazak. He highlighted the showcase of Mazak’s cutting-edge technologies and their commitment to driving customer productivity and profitability through innovation.
