This marks a notable expansion since the ecosystem’s inception in 2016, which aimed to transform Universal Robots into an open-source-like platform for developers to create innovative solutions.
The UR+ ecosystem now boasts a diverse range of components, kits, applications, and solutions in both hardware and software, tailored to meet various customer needs. “Universal Robots is built on collaboration, and this milestone clearly indicates that we are the preferred platform in collaborative robotics,” said Kim Povlsen, president of Universal Robots. “We have an amazing ecosystem with hundreds of partner companies, from small developer start-ups to established and well-known brands. Products available in the UR+ ecosystem range from simple grippers to comprehensive solutions for tasks such as palletizing and welding. A notable trend within the ecosystem has been the development of turnkey solutions that address common automation needs. Additionally, there has been rapid growth in applications and solutions incorporating AI technology.
