Luton-based Trumpf Ltd is celebrating a significant milestone: 50 years of providing cutting-edge machine tools and laser innovations to manufacturers across the UK.
In recent weeks, the company has hosted various celebratory events with customers, partners, and employees, looking ahead to future decades of market and technology leadership.
Founded in 1974 as Trumpf Machine Tools Ltd in St Albans with a team of just five employees, the company demonstrated rapid success and growth. By 1989, it relocated to Luton, establishing the new UK headquarters of Trumpf Ltd.
Today, the Luton facility employs over 100 people and features a 1,000-square-metre showroom designed for comprehensive customer experience activities, including time studies, feasibility assessments, and sample creation.
To commemorate this notable milestone, Trumpf Ltd organized a festive gala in Luton on July 4. The event was attended by Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, CEO, and Mathias Kammüller, CDO, from Trumpf’s parent company in Germany.
In her address to over 50 invited guests, Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller expressed gratitude, saying, “I would like to thank our customers and partners for your loyalty over the years. Without you, none of us would be here today.”
Lee Moakes, Managing Director of Trumpf Ltd, who has led the subsidiary since 2018, echoed this sentiment: “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we especially celebrate our customers. They are the reason we strive to give our best every day. To ensure our customers receive optimal solutions and support, we also have a duty to keep investing in our employees, processes, and products.”
Alongside the gala for customers and partners, Trumpf Ltd held a special 50th-anniversary celebration with employees on July 13.
Proud of its 50 years of success, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the UK’s evolving sheet metal industry. This dedication was evident at its recent open house on July 2-3, where existing and prospective customers were given access to the latest machine tool and laser technologies.
