by Anna

At AMB 2024 in Stuttgart, ANCA, a leader in grinding technology, is marking its 50th anniversary by unveiling a range of new products and collaborative solutions. The company’s showcase in Hall 5/B12 will highlight advancements in automation, grinding technologies, and software designed to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Martin Winterstein, Managing Director of ANCA Europe GmbH, emphasized the significance of the event: “AMB in Stuttgart is a highly inspiring trade show. It attracts expert visitors from both Germany and abroad, bringing specific industrial and local requirements. As a pioneer in precision tool manufacturing, we aim to drive efficiency and productivity in the industry.”

ANCA’s presentation will feature its latest ULTRA series, which has been expanded since the introduction of nanometre control in 2022. The ULTRA models, including the MX, FX, and MicroX variants, now support tools as small as 0.1 mm in diameter. Equipped with advanced features such as spindle temperature compensation, in-process quality control, and tool runout compensation, these models ensure high-quality production with precision and reliability.

At the exhibition, the MX7 ULTRA will be showcased in a configuration optimized for lean production. This setup includes a P-axis and a steady rest from ANCA’s partner Arobotech, enabling integrated blank preparation, peel grinding, and geometry grinding in a single clamping. This approach simplifies processes, reduces throughput times, and decreases production complexity.

Visitors will experience a live demo featuring digital operator guidance, measurement, and compensation using a ZOLLER genius universal measuring machine linked to the MX7 ULTRA. This demonstration highlights how digital solutions contribute to consistent quality and efficient production.

In addition to its focus on automation, ANCA will present solutions for gear cutting tool manufacturers. The GCX grinding machine and the MP1200 EDM dressing machine from Mitsubishi will be showcased together. This collaboration aims to enhance precision and productivity in the production of gear cutting tools such as skiving tools, taps, and thread mills. The GCX package offers integrated tool measurement, set-up parameters for gear skiving machines, and advanced functions like ANCA motor temperature control (MTC) and integrated balancing (iBalance) for long-term grinding accuracy.

Another highlight is the introduction of the new ToolRoom software version RN35 and CIM3D, which promise up to a 20% productivity boost. These updates feature federate optimization, statistical process control, and enhanced in-process measurement capabilities with ANCA’s LaserUltra, the advanced non-contact measurement system.

ANCA’s showcase at AMB 2024 underscores its commitment to innovation and excellence in the grinding technology sector, offering solutions that drive productivity and precision in machining operations.
