Ropsley Ltd, the parent company of PJD Mechanical Engineering and Piper Services, has recently completed the acquisition of Green’s Power, a renowned global provider of heat transfer, economiser, and industrial boiler products. Green’s Power, credited with inventing the Economiser in 1841, brings a rich history and expertise to the merger.
The strategic move to acquire Green’s Power aligns with Ropsley Ltd’s vision to offer a comprehensive end-to-end solution to its clientele. Piper Services, a Teesside-based fabrication business under the Ropsley umbrella, specializes in manufacturing tanks, chemical skids, and notably the CCUS pilot plant for a prominent UK energy generator.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the UK Power and Industrial markets, consolidating one of the largest independent groups with a workforce exceeding 250 specialists and an annual turnover surpassing £40 million.
The integration of PJD Mechanical Engineering and Green’s Power will introduce a fully integrated solution encompassing steam boiler and pressure part design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, and comprehensive repair and maintenance services across various sectors.
While PJD excels in site installation, equipment repairs, and servicing, Green’s Power is recognized for its pioneering design, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities. Together, they aim to deliver a turnkey solution with a strong presence across the UK and a global manufacturing footprint.
David Hayle, representing Ropsley Ltd, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasizing the commitment to seamlessly integrate the businesses and provide an enhanced solution to both existing and prospective customers. Looking ahead, the focus is on driving exponential growth and supporting Green’s Power through the next phase of its evolution.
Chris Wright, the operations director at Green’s Power, highlighted the company’s longstanding legacy as a global leader in boiler equipment and services since 1821. Embracing the partnership with Ropsley’s portfolio, Green’s Power is optimistic about continuing to innovate and develop progressive solutions within the group’s core sectors, anticipating a promising future ahead.
