Phoenix Hydraulic & Electrical Services, a Peterborough-based manufacturer renowned for its work in top-tier motorsport and the oil and gas sectors, has rebranded to Phoenix Fluid Power. This change comes in response to the company’s rapid growth and over £600,000 investment in new tooling and automation.
The rebranding reflects the company’s evolution towards designing, simulating, and manufacturing advanced fluid power systems. The firm was recently honored with a Lifetime Supporter Award from the British Fluid Power Association, underscoring its significant contributions to the field.
Elizabeth Noles, General Manager & Director of Phoenix Fluid Power, stated, “After more than 40 years, it was time for a change. Fluid power now plays a crucial role in most of our projects, and this new identity aligns with our focus and expertise in this area.”
Now one of the UK’s largest independent fluid power companies, Phoenix Fluid Power has experienced a turnover increase of over 50% in the past two years, with further growth anticipated in 2024. The company has tackled a diverse range of projects, from developing fluid control units for unmanned electric aircraft to creating a moving floor assembly for a concealed swimming pool in a US mansion.
Noles added, “The scope and scale of our projects are expanding rapidly. Our reputation for delivering complex builds on time and on budget, combined with our recent technological investments, positions us well for continued growth.”
Operating from a 20,000 square foot facility, Phoenix Fluid Power employs a team of 35 and specializes in bespoke fluid power systems. The facility boasts state-of-the-art CNC turning and milling machines, waterjet cutting, shot-blasting capabilities, and precision welding bays. It also features a dedicated hose assembly service area and an online parts shop with over 70,000 units in stock.
In addition, the company’s sister brand, Phoenix Marine, operates from the same site and is a member of the British Marine Federation. Phoenix Marine focuses on designing hydraulic systems for the marine industry, serving some of the world’s leading superyacht manufacturers.
