Hyosung Heavy Industries announced on August 26 that it will finalize power equipment supply agreements totaling approximately 350 billion won ($263.81 million) during the CIGRE Paris Session 2024, the world’s premier power grid exhibition taking place in Paris from August 26 to 30 (local time).
On August 27, the company is set to sign a major long-term supply agreement worth 330 billion won with Norway’s state-owned power utility for ultra-high voltage transformers. The following day, Hyosung Heavy Industries will secure a 22 billion won contract with Iceland’s state-owned power company, marking the largest single order for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) in Europe.
At CIGRE Paris Session 2024, Hyosung Heavy Industries will present its latest advancements in power equipment and system solutions. The company will feature its ultra-high voltage transformers, circuit breakers, energy storage systems (ESS), and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems. A focal point will be its GIS technology, which notably reduces carbon emissions, along with ESS solutions that boost renewable energy efficiency.
Additionally, the company will host the “Future Grid Insight Forum” during the exhibition, a follow-up to its inaugural event in 2022. This forum will gather prominent figures from major power companies across Europe, the United States, and Asia. Discussions will cover emerging topics such as AI-driven data centers, digital substations, and carbon neutrality. The forum will also showcase Hyosung’s innovations in low-carbon power equipment, including SF6-Free GIS developed at its European R&D center.
