Cronus Chemicals LLC has achieved a significant milestone with its battery production plant in Tuscola, Illinois, receiving a crucial building permit from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This development marks a pivotal moment for the Cronus project, strategically located in the U.S. Corn Belt.

The state-of-the-art facility is set to have a substantial impact on both U.S. and global food supply chains. Utilizing UHDE – ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions’ advanced technology, the plant will produce 950,000 short tons of synthetic modules annually. Its strategic location, surrounded by three interconnected natural gas pipelines, ensures a stable supply of natural gas, enhancing both price competitiveness and operational efficiency.
