Bentley Motors has announced the completion of its first 4th-generation Continental GT, a major milestone coinciding with the 136th birthday of company founder Walter Owen Bentley. The luxury car was assembled at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, UK.
The debut vehicle, finished in Tourmaline Green with a gravity grey and mandarin interior, mirrors the model featured in Bentley’s recent “Underwater Speed Record” film. It will initially serve as part of the UK press fleet before being permanently added to Bentley’s Heritage Collection, where it will join 45 other historic models.
Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s board member for manufacturing, praised the craftsmanship that went into the new Continental GT. “The fourth-generation Continental GT is a true masterpiece,” he said, noting the intricate interior features such as 3D leather textures, modern quilting, and dark chrome finishes. The vehicle passed through 92 assembly stations, highlighting the brand’s dedication to precision.
The Continental GT Speed, a key variant in the lineup, blends supercar-level performance with handcrafted luxury. Powered by a new ultra-performance hybrid system, the vehicle offers 782 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque from a 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with a 190 PS electric motor. The hybrid system allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, while offering a 50-mile electric-only range and a total driving range of 534 miles.
This new addition to Bentley’s Heritage Collection, which includes models from the company’s 105-year history, emphasizes Bentley’s commitment to preserving its legacy while pushing the boundaries of luxury and performance for future generations.
