RE Technologies | Senvion India has officially introduced the 4.2M160 wind turbine generator, heralding a significant advancement in wind energy harvesting. Developed collaboratively by engineering teams in Germany and India, this turbine utilizes modern control technologies and self-power optimization to adapt to varying ambient conditions, maximizing energy production.
With a rotor diameter of 160 meters and a hub height of 140 meters, the 4.2M160 is the first 4 MW wind turbine generator produced by RE Technologies and the Senvion Group. Its specially designed 78.5-meter blades cater to low wind conditions and are based on established Double Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology.
The turbine complies with grid code requirements in India and other markets, with certification from IEC RE OD 501. It enhances reliability and lifespan by reducing strain from harsh environmental conditions while maintaining a stable power output. An advanced controller optimizes performance at minimal wind speeds, preventing excessive loads and ensuring long-term efficiency. Its design allows operation in extreme temperatures and dusty environments, making it a versatile solution across various markets. Additionally, the modular scalability of the 4XM ensures tailored solutions for diverse business needs.
Amit Kansal, CEO of Senvion India, noted that the turbine’s engineering meets global client expectations, providing reliability and performance even in challenging conditions. Jamal Wadi, Managing Director of RE Technologies, highlighted that the fully localized value chain enables the production and implementation of technology that optimizes power generation while minimizing operating costs through an exclusive license from Senvion India.
