Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC), a national leader in specialized technical training for over 75 years, has announced the launch of new career training programs in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Systems (HVAC) Technology and Electrical and Electronic Systems Technology (EEST) at its Moorestown, NJ campus.
For more than a decade, the Moorestown campus has been a prominent choice for students and employers in the Trenton-Camden corridor, primarily focusing on healthcare and IT training. With over 30,000 job openings anticipated across New Jersey in the HVAC and electrical/electronics sectors, Lincoln Tech-Moorestown aims to help cultivate the next generation of skilled workers in these critical trades. Students will now have the option to pursue six in-demand career fields at the campus.
“Our region’s hiring managers consistently express a need for skilled HVAC and electronic systems technicians, as well as electricians,” stated Scott Shaw, President and CEO of Lincoln Tech. “Since 2010, our Moorestown campus has successfully graduated skilled technicians across multiple fields, and we are proud to extend our efforts to address the HVAC and electrical skills shortages.”
The HVAC training program, which grants a certificate upon completion, can be finished in approximately one year. It includes 1,200 instructional hours, primarily hands-on training using Hampden trainers in simulated job site environments. Students will cover topics such as commercial refrigeration systems, basic refrigeration systems, electricity, heating systems, and air conditioning. They will gain skills in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and controls, along with advanced electrical training.
The EEST program follows a similar structure, focusing on electrical and electronic systems related to installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of both commercial and residential systems. Students will explore career opportunities in entertainment, security, monitoring, and telecommunications, while also preparing for entry-level roles as residential electricians.
Graduates of these programs will have the opportunity to apply for manufacturer-sponsored training with companies like Hussmann Refrigeration and Johnson Controls International, which are actively seeking new talent. In many cases, these programs cover training and relocation expenses, allowing graduates to transition into their careers with minimal additional costs.
