The ACLD Foundation has recently been awarded a generous grant of $10,000 from the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation in support of its ongoing Generator Campaign. This campaign, which began in 2021, seeks to install generators in ACLD residences located across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, ensuring uninterrupted care for individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and other developmental disabilities.
Since its launch, the Generator Campaign has successfully raised more than $500,000 and installed 20 generators in ACLD homes. These generators play a crucial role in maintaining lifesaving medical equipment and providing uninterrupted care, especially during power outages, for the organization’s 400 residents.
The $10,000 contribution from the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation will help ACLD move closer to its goal of purchasing and installing 14 more generators. With no other funding source available for this project, the ACLD Foundation remains committed to raising the necessary funds to provide these essential installations, ensuring safety and comfort for all residents.
