Templant, a leading generator hire company, has been awarded a three-year contract by Northumbrian Water Limited (NWL) to supply emergency response hire generators across Essex and Suffolk. This contract ensures that NWL can maintain an uninterrupted power supply to critical sites in these regions, operating 24/7, 365 days a year.
The contract was awarded to Templant based on its proximity to the required sites in Chelmsford and its proven ability to meet NWL’s stringent response time requirements.
Under the terms of the contract, Templant will provide power solutions for 50 high-priority locations within a two-hour response window, along with more than 150 additional sites across both counties. The company will deploy units from its existing fleet and source new generators from reputable suppliers such as Pramac and Atlas Copco. The generators, ranging from 20kVA to 2000kVA, are tailored to meet diverse power needs. They are also equipped with battery energy storage units and automatic change-over panels where necessary, with advanced tracking and monitoring software for enhanced reliability.
The generators will be on standby, ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice to ensure continuous power and reduce any potential downtime at NWL’s facilities. Templant has also set up a dedicated team of on-call engineers and drivers, managed by newly appointed Contracts Manager Rhea Solari, to provide swift site backup. Staff have undergone specialized training, including obtaining the National Water Hygiene ‘blue card’ certification, to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
This contract reinforces Templant’s commitment to supporting critical infrastructure and underscores its ability to provide rapid, reliable emergency response services.
