Samsung Electronics is set to unveil new refrigerators featuring AI Hybrid Cooling Technology at CES 2025. The innovative system adjusts cooling methods by activating both a Peltier module and a compressor as needed, depending on factors like added groceries, hot food, or hot weather. Samsung’s AI algorithm continuously monitors the refrigerator’s status, predicting temperature changes to optimize energy use.
The hybrid system boosts energy efficiency by using power sources only when necessary. Additionally, the AI Inverter Compressor dynamically adjusts its speed to further reduce energy consumption. The Peltier module, a semiconductor that cools via electric current, enhances the system’s efficiency by using both power sources only when required, similar to a hybrid car.
“Refrigerators run 24/7, so we focused on developing a cooling system that significantly improves energy efficiency,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s R&D Team for Digital Appliances. The global launch of this technology emphasizes Samsung’s commitment to innovation in home appliances.
