Pess Energy, a French startup specializing in portable power solutions, has introduced the FlyWatt, a 10 kWh battery-powered generator designed for film and TV production crews. The new generator uses lithium-ion technology and can be recharged with an included 1,500 W Ekla solar panel kit, which comes with a travel case for easy transport. With a three-hour recharging time via a domestic socket, the FlyWatt offers a convenient, eco-friendly alternative to traditional gas-powered generators.
Targeting the film industry, where sustainability is increasingly important, the FlyWatt provides silent, odorless operation—key advantages over gas-powered units, particularly on noise-sensitive sets. The generator’s compact size allows for stacking up to six units in a cargo van, delivering a total of 66 kW. Each unit offers six powerbank sockets with 16A and 32A outputs, catering to a range of equipment needs.
The included Ekla solar panel kit generates up to 8,800 Wh per day, depending on weather conditions, with four monocrystalline panels offering 18% power conversion efficiency. These panels are durable, with a 10-year lifespan, and come with collapsible kickstands for optimal positioning.
Founded in 2021 and based in Marseille, Pess Energy is backed by French venture capital investors and is committed to developing sustainable, off-grid power solutions. With the FlyWatt, the company aims to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly power in industries like cinema, construction, and emergency services.
