Greatness In You (GIU), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, has donated a 7.5 KVA generator to Oyoko Clinic in Ghana’s Eastern Region, addressing the clinic’s long-standing electricity challenges. The donation is expected to enhance healthcare delivery by ensuring uninterrupted power supply, which has been a persistent issue at the clinic.
The ceremony, attended by community leaders including Nana Sempe Bonsu II, Chief of Oyoko, and hundreds of local residents, highlighted the pressing need for reliable healthcare infrastructure in the region. Kwabena Kesse, GIU’s Founder and President, expressed his deep personal connection to the community, saying, “At GIU, we believe in making a tangible impact. This generator will ensure that this clinic, which serves many, can provide consistent care, especially during emergencies.” GIU will also service and maintain the generator for two years to ensure its reliability before handing it over to the clinic.
Physician Assistant Acheampong Sakyi of Oyoko Clinic praised the donation, emphasizing the critical role of reliable power in medical procedures, particularly in the labor ward. “This donation brings hope and will prevent unnecessary delays in care,” he said.
The generator marks a significant improvement in the clinic’s ability to deliver vital services to the Oyoko community, showcasing GIU’s commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives in underserved areas.
