Nomad Solar Energy, a Spanish solar company and subsidiary of Lone Lighthouse, has unveiled its Nomad Energy Box, a mobile, containerized solar PV generator designed for quick deployment in remote or off-grid areas.
The unit, integrated into a shipping container, features a retractable solar array that unfolds onto the ground, adapting to various terrains. It can be set up within three hours and retracted during adverse weather conditions for protection.
Available in two sizes—47 kW and 107 kW—the generators are ideal for applications such as military, humanitarian, construction, and mining sites. An optional battery storage feature enhances energy management. The smaller 47 kW version includes 92 solar panels and weighs 6,500 kg.
Nomad Solar Energy also plans to launch larger models, including a 220 kW version and a 107 kW unit with integrated storage. The company emphasizes that no land preparation, permits, or specialized labor is needed for installation.
Designed as an eco-friendly alternative to diesel generators, the Nomad Energy Box can also support unstable power grids. The startup recently secured €15 million in funding from TiLT Capital Partners and is expanding its reach in international markets, including the Middle East and the U.S.
