Husqvarna is unveiling two new commercial-grade robot lawn mowers at the GCSAA Conference in San Diego: the 535 AWD and the 580L EPOS. Leveraging the company’s decades of expertise in outdoor power equipment, these models bring cutting-edge technology to lawn care.
The 580L EPOS, in particular, represents Husqvarna’s commitment to transforming turf management on golf courses, sports fields, and other large facilities. The “EPOS” (Exact Positioning Operating System) is a satellite-based system that enables these mowers to operate within virtual boundaries, eliminating the need for traditional boundary wires.
Thanks to the precision of EPOS, these mowers can offer customized mowing schedules, cut heights, and patterns with accuracy within 2 cm. The system also allows users to create “stay-out zones” and enables quick shutdown in emergencies. This satellite-based approach sets the 580L EPOS apart from other, more basic models on the market, making it ideal for commercial landscaping.
The Husqvarna 580L EPOS can cover up to four acres on a single charge, recharging in under an hour, making it a true powerhouse for large-scale operations. On the consumer side, the 535 AWD EPOS provides coverage for up to 0.9 acres, offering a practical solution for residential and rural properties.
Dave Plaster, Vice President of Sports & Golf at Husqvarna Group, explains, “These models are perfect for turf professionals seeking to simplify their lawn care tasks. With growing demand for autonomous solutions, we’re proud to offer these robotic mowers to meet high industry standards.”
Both models are now available for order, with the 580L priced at $7,399, and shipments set to begin next month. Husqvarna’s new mowers mark a significant leap forward in automated turf management.
