TELO, an electric vehicle startup, has unveiled the MT1 “Mini” Electric Pickup Truck, designed to be the world’s most efficient pickup. Compact at just 152 inches long, about the size of a Mini Cooper, it’s ideal for tight worksites and urban areas where larger trucks struggle. Despite its size, the truck features a 60-inch bed, expandable to 96 inches with the midgate down.
The MT1 is available in single-motor (two-wheel drive) and dual-motor (four-wheel drive) versions, offering a range of 260 miles and 350 miles, respectively. The single motor delivers 300 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, while the dual motor offers 500 horsepower and a 3.5-second acceleration. Both versions support a towing capacity of 6,600 pounds and a payload of 2,000 pounds for the single motor and 1,700 pounds for the dual motor.
With a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 6,100 pounds, the MT1 is perfect for indoor and underground operations due to its low emissions and noise. It also features an integrated power take-off system to power tools and equipment.
TELO’s innovative battery system is 50% more space-efficient than traditional EV packs. The company is collaborating with Aptera Motors for solar charging options, including rooftop, tonneau, and camper shell kits.
The MT1 is expected to be available in 2026, with pre-orders currently open for a fully refundable $152 deposit.
