German hydrogen heating manufacturer Hyting has received European market certification under the Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) for its 10kW hydrogen-fueled heating generator. This certification confirms the unit’s safety and market readiness, positioning it for broader adoption across Europe.
The certification follows extensive testing conducted by Kiwa, an independent testing and certification authority. Hyting’s 10-50kW hydrogen heating generators offer forced-air heating without harmful emissions, eliminating pollutants like carbon dioxide (CO₂), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter typically produced by fossil-fuel heaters. This highlights the technology’s efficiency, safety, and readiness for commercial deployment.
Tim Hannig, Founder and Managing Director of Hyting, expressed confidence in the certification’s significance, noting that the unit is both safe and market-ready. He also explained the choice of Kiwa for certification, emphasizing the company’s trusted reputation in the heating sector.
This milestone follows Hyting’s recent strategic partnership with global heating technology leader ebm-papst, which aims to accelerate the development and production of hydrogen-powered heat generators, further strengthening Hyting’s position in the market.
