Larsen & Toubro (L&T), through its Heavy Engineering division, has successfully shipped the fourth Steam Generator (SG) to the Kaiga Atomic Power Station in Karnataka. This marks the completion of the delivery of four SGs for one unit as part of India’s indigenously developed 10×700 MWe Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor Fleet Programme.
The fourth SG was delivered nine months ahead of schedule, with all four SGs dispatched in just 45 months. The first SG was delivered in a record 33 months. These SGs are designated for Units 5 and 6 at Kaiga. The shipment ceremony took place at L&T’s A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat, with senior officials from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) in attendance.
