Nature’s Generator has introduced the MyGrid 10K, a new system designed to integrate solar and wind power for home use. The system provides a plug-and-play solution that allows homeowners to easily set up their own renewable energy grid, avoiding the need for electric panel upgrades. CEO Lawrence Zhou emphasizes the system’s ease of installation, claiming it can be set up in minutes, unlike other systems that may take days or even months.
MyGrid 10K Specifications
The MyGrid 10K can support up to 12 kW of solar panels and one wind turbine, in addition to being charged via a standard 120V outlet or a 208/240V outlet. It boasts a capacity of 10,496 Wh, with 6,000 life cycles, and a 10 kW continuous power output. The system can be expanded up to 20 kW continuous power output and 140 kilowatt-hours capacity.
The system connects to a home’s electrical panel using an Automatic Transfer Switch and features a battery management system (BMS) to prevent overcharging, ensuring the battery doesn’t accept a charge once full. Zhou highlights that the MyGrid 10K does not backfeed to the grid, making it easier to navigate the permit process.
MyGrid 10K Use Cases
Once fully certified, Zhou sees several potential use cases for the MyGrid 10K:
Backup Power: Provides backup power for the entire home during outages, whether or not the customer has a grid-tied solar system.
Off-Grid Power: Acts as the grid when no utility service is available, using solar panels and wind turbines to charge the system.
Electricity Bill Savings: The energy generated from solar and wind is free for the user, helping to offset electricity bills.
The inverter is ETL certified, and the company is working on securing ETL certification for the battery as well.
