Hurco Highlights Automation and Programming Simplification at EMO 2023

by Anna

Hurco, a frontrunner in machining technology, is set to make a significant impact at this year’s EMO exhibition, situated at stand D68 in hall 12. The company’s paramount focus will rest on the spheres of automation and streamlined programming processes. Dovetailing with this emphasis, Hurco will unveil its prowess in facilitating the programming of freeform surfaces directly at the machine, showcasing the user-friendly and efficient capabilities of its control system. Additionally, the company will exhibit well-established parts handling solutions, exemplifying their commitment to bolstering operational efficiency.

Sebastian Herr, the Applications Technology Manager at Hurco, elucidated, “In the realm of contract manufacturing, precision and expediency reign supreme. Our role in empowering our customers to meet these demands is executed through the provision of cutting-edge machinery and software, thereby optimizing outcomes.”

The spotlight of Hurco’s presentation will illuminate their integration of ProFeeder, an integral component of their ProCobots range. The ProFeeder epitomizes the concept of plug-and-play simplicity, offering an easily programmable and deployable solution for parts handling. At EMO, the ProFeeder’s synergy with the TM8Mi lathe will be vividly demonstrated, showcasing its adaptability across a range of Hurco machines. Seamlessly interwoven into processes, the ProFeeder integrates via the intuitive WinMax control software and the Automation Job Manager solution, tailored specifically for ProCobots.

A groundbreaking addition this year is the Surfacing option. Leaning on Hurco’s Solid Model Import software, the 3D models formatted as STEP files can now be directly imported into the control. This expansion of capability, referred to as Surfacing, empowers the programming of intricate freeform surfaces right on the shop floor. Previously, such tasks necessitated the utilization of a CAM workstation.

For those unable to attend EMO, Hurco Europe’s “Demo Deals Day” presents a valuable alternative. Set to take place on September 28, 2023, at their High Wycombe location, the event will showcase thirteen ex-demo machines available for purchase, along with refurbished used machines. Those participating in the event and exploring new machine or Solid Model Import demos will also receive a complimentary Hurco golf umbrella.

In summary, Hurco’s presence at EMO 2023 signifies a resounding commitment to advancing automation and programming simplicity, underscoring their dedication to optimizing efficiency and precision in the realm of machining technology.
