Mills CNC, a prominent provider of machine tools and advanced automation systems, is set to unveil its cutting-edge SYNERGi Premier automated manufacturing cell at the upcoming three-day Fanuc Open House event, scheduled to take place from November 14th to 16th.
Based in Leamington Spa, Mills CNC holds the exclusive distributorship for DN Solutions’ and Zayer machine tools in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It has garnered a reputation as a leading supplier of advanced automation solutions to component manufacturers.
The featured cell comprises several components, notably the compact DN Solutions’ Lynx 2100LSYB sub-spindle turning center equipped with an 8″ chuck and 65mm bar diameter. This versatile machine features driven tools and Y-axis capabilities, making it a valuable asset for various manufacturing processes. Accompanying the Lynx 2100LSYB is a Fanuc industrial robot with six-axis capability, offering a 25kg payload and end-of-arm tooling. The cell also incorporates a SYNERGi Premier 5-drawer part loading/unloading station, which operates bidirectionally, and a user-friendly 17″ touchscreen iHMI (intelligent Human Machine Interface).
Mills CNC’s SYNERGi Premier automation cells, powered by the company’s proprietary SYNERGi software, have been well-received in the manufacturing industry since their introduction in 2020. These solutions are designed to enhance productivity and process efficiency for component manufacturers across various sectors.
The cells can be tailored to meet specific requirements, featuring safety measures such as caging, fencing, and laser floor scanner technology. Additional customization options include the incorporation of robot rails, enabling the robot to service multiple machines, part inspection and ejection conveyors, and part turnover stations. The cells can also be configured for both front and side loading, offering flexibility to suit diverse manufacturing setups.
The centerpiece of this showcase is the Fanuc-controlled Lynx 2100LSYBY machine tool, boasting a 15kW/4,500rpm spindle, a 12-station turret, a 105mm Y-axis with a range of +/-52.5mm, and the capability for driven tooling at 6,000rpm.
