Flux Aviation Accelerates Development of Electric Powertrain System with £10,000 Grant

by Anna

Flux Aviation, a pioneering aerospace start-up, has received a £10,000 Under 30s grant from Get It Made, a London-based manufacturing specialist, enabling the acceleration of its 75kW battery electric powertrain system. Launched in August 2021 by entrepreneurs Neofytos Dimitriou and Radovan Gallo, Flux Aviation aims to revolutionize aviation with its sustainable and economical electric powertrain solution.

The grant has provided Flux Aviation with the means to expedite the development of its electric powertrain system, designed as a drop-in replacement for existing combustion engines. This system is a crucial component of Flux Aviation’s broader vision for quiet, clean, and affordable flights, targeting a range of aircraft sizes from 2-seat trainers to 50-seat regional airliners.

Luke Smoothy, director and founder of Get It Made, expresses enthusiasm for supporting Flux Aviation’s innovative approach to reducing carbon emissions in aviation. He states, “We were so impressed by their technical understanding and their ideas to put the industry on a greener, more cost-efficient path with far-reaching benefits.”

Flux Aviation’s ultimate ambition is to scale its technology to decarbonize all regional and domestic flights, targeting flights under 500 miles that contribute over 20% of all aviation emissions. Gallo envisions a future for the general aviation industry that is “quiet, clean, and affordable for everyone,” powered by their innovative electric powertrain systems.
