Precision sheet metal manufacturers, KMF Group, have significantly expanded their manufacturing capabilities with a substantial investment of £425,000 in new equipment. The strategic move aims to enhance industrial services, increase manufacturing productivity, and accommodate the growing customer base at KMF.
The investment includes the acquisition of a state-of-the-art Bead Blast Room and a new Salvagnini panel folding machine, signaling KMF’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the engineering industry.
A notable portion of the investment, £75,000, went into the Bead Blast System. This addition is expected to double the finishing process capacity, with the working area expanding from 7.5 square meters to an impressive 14 square meters. The advanced design of the blast system not only enhances infrastructure but also enables KMF to broaden the variety of products it manufactures. The investment is set to bring multiple business benefits, including increased extraction capacity, faster clean-downs, semi-automation for recycling capabilities, and improved working conditions for process operators.
Complementing this, KMF has invested £350,000 in Salvagnini’s automated P1 Panel bending machine, a move aimed at streamlining future business operations. The Salvagnini product promises improved programming efficiency, supporting the prototyping of large batch production. The automated machine adds rapid capacity for the volume product range at KMF Group. Moreover, the newly installed P1 is expected to contribute to energy savings, with KMF anticipating a decrease in energy consumption compared to previous machinery.
Keith Nicholl, Commercial Director at KMF Group, emphasized the importance of staying ahead in the fast-developing engineering industry. He stated, “Our customers will quickly see a benefit from this investment with the equipment improving efficiencies and processes.” The strategic investment aligns with KMF’s commitment to adapting to industry advancements and ensuring they remain competitive in the dynamic engineering landscape.
