The partnership leverages the expertise of AMRC Cymru, located in Broughton, North Wales, and UWTSD with its advanced manufacturing center in Swansea. Both entities, renowned for their industry-focused solutions, aim to equip manufacturers across Wales with digital tools and technological advancements to enhance competitiveness.
AMRC Cymru, a member of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult network, and UWTSD, renowned for bridging the gap between academia and industry, have previously collaborated on multiple projects. Notable initiatives include MADE Cymru, focused on upskilling manufacturers; SMART Digital Accelerator, aimed at identifying effective digital technologies; and Ffatri 4.0, addressing productivity and carbon emissions targets in the food and drink industry.
The collaboration, which has demonstrated tangible benefits for supported businesses, involves knowledge sharing, case studies, and access to state-of-the-art equipment. By pooling their resources, the two organizations aim to expand their impact across Wales, emphasizing the power of collaboration in advancing the manufacturing landscape.
