UK-based PTG Holroyd has announced a strategic move to equip all models in its TG Series of ultra-precise helical rotor and thread grinding machines with the Siemens digitally-native Sinumerik One CNC as standard. This decision follows PTG Holroyd’s successful adoption of the Sinumerik One CNC in its HG350 range of worm and gear grinding centers.
As the first UK machine tool manufacturer to embrace Sinumerik One CNC, PTG Holroyd is reinforcing its commitment to future-proofing technologies. The integration of Sinumerik One CNC in TG Series machines offers users benefits such as class-leading integrated safety and failsafe features, enhanced reporting of machine health and performance data, and high levels of encrypted security.
Mark Curran, PTG Holroyd Sales Director, emphasized the significant advantages brought by Sinumerik One CNC to their HG350 machines, making the migration to this control system for TG Series machines a sensible step. Enhanced connectivity, increased performance, and improved design capabilities with Create MyVirtual Machine features contribute to a more efficient and streamlined manufacturing process.
The TG Series by PTG Holroyd is renowned for setting industry standards in high-speed, high-accuracy, and efficient stock removal. With the inclusion of Sinumerik One CNC, the company expects its TG range of helical rotor and thread grinding machines to be even more suitable for its global customer base.
The TG Series, starting with the TG50E and expanding in capability, is designed for the finish grinding of helical screw components such as worm screws and rotors. Automation features reduce setup time, and continuous dressing during semi-finish grinding cycles enhances production efficiency.
PTG Holroyd’s move towards digital integration not only aligns with current industry trends but also positions the company at the forefront of advanced manufacturing technologies, providing enhanced capabilities and efficiencies for precision grinding applications.
